Bluesky… what am I missing there? I never understood Twitter and feel like the way I don’t understand Bluesky is the same…. If that makes sense. Maybe I don’t know who to follow? Or don’t know what to post?
Hey Heather, it might just take a bit to compose your feed first. I use it kind of as a news source and follow lots of journalists. Here’s a list of CNF https://go.bsky.app/C32PkRW
yes on all counts. a very helpful thing for me in the last week is remembering that the news is not information—it's marketing, designed to upset us and drive clicks for advertisers. the truth of what is really happening (not what *might* happen if x and y and z happen first) is often far less interesting, yet is much more deserving of our urgent attention, when we can find it. what *might* happen is not happening right now. all we can address is what *is* happening, and we do have power there.

this was full of so many excellent reminders. i felt relieved at the idea that we can give up trying to convince people of things-- that time has come and gone
We all have confirmation bias whether we use Bluesky or not. You’d probably be surprised at how much friendly construction disagreement happens, which might not occur under a situation where you’re being yelled at. I don’t think MAGA yelling at people produces the ideal situation for thoughtful conversations.
thank you for writing this, sonya. resonated in so many ways - the boundaries, the goon pictures, blusky...

Such important perspective, Kate. And I am also a fan of the big notes-to-self on the fridge!!! xoxox

I’m glad you like BlueSky, but I haven’t joined it (yet). I worry about confirmation bias…
